Summary Project FiSK – a unique partnership project about fish, children, health and cognition The 28th of February 2019 is the end date for the three-year partnership project FiSK – A research and interpretation project about fish, children, health and cognition. This article is an op- portunity to retain the experiences from this project for future reference. Project FiSK is a partnership between Department of Nutrition, Exercise and Sports at the University of Copenhagen and four of the Danish aquariums: The Kattegatcenter in Grenaa, The North Sea Oceanarium in Hirtshals, The Blue Planet in Copenhagen and The Fisheries and Maritime Museum in Esbjerg. The project is funded by the Nordea Foundation. The project can be divided in two sub-projects: 1) A research project which examines the hypothesis that fish can improve children’s health and cognitive function. 2) A communication project interpreting research-based know- ledge about fish and health. The interpretation took place through exhibition, events, teach- ing programs, social media, and cooking recipe cards. The exhibition was called “The living kitchen” and was produced by YOKE, a digital design agency. Four identical physical exhibi- tions were on display in the four aquarium institutions. The Fish- eries and Maritime Museum altogether arranged 15 FiSK events. Many of them were characterized by being interdisciplinary in- volving both natural history and aspects of cultural history. The Museum also made five FiSK teaching programmes - again with an interdisciplinary approach. Teaching materials for schools to use were also posted on a resource channel (SkoleTube).
